The Program
The University of Glasgow, School of Veterinary Medicine has an internationally-renowned reputation in Veterinary Medicine and is fully accredited by the AVMA.  The University of Glasgow is working with selected universities across North America, to offer a unique opportunity for high quality animal science students who wish to study veterinary medicine, within the global context.  This program is called FEEPASS (Facilitated Early Entry Programme for Animal Science Students).

Glasgow’s  School of Veterinary medicine is offering FEEPASS,  whereby selected students complete the final year of their animal science degree at the University of Glasgow.  During their time at Glasgow, students will study alongside students on the first year of the University of Glasgow’s veterinary medicine degree program (Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, BVMS—which is the equivalent to the DVM in the United States). Successful completion of assessments for this year of study will result in full course credit, allowing American students to graduate  from their home institution with guaranteed admission to year 2 of the University of Glasgow’s BVMS program.

The Academics

Students on FEEPASS, will acquire fundamental knowledge and develop the skills and attitudes on which a veterinary medical training is based.  During this year, students will relate the anatomy and physiology of the body systems to health and disease in domestic animals, as well as examine the underlying cellular process involved.  Students will gain an insight into common husbandry practice and animal breeding and how these impact on the animals we care for.  Click here for more information on the academics during the first year in the program.

Students participating in the program can receive all ANSC 3693 Foreign Study credit.

Students may substitute one of your C requirements (if needed) from your classes in Glasgow. Please contact your Advisor directly for final approval.

The Experience

You will pay tuition and room/board directly to the University of Glasgow during your FEEPASS year.  A variety of housing options exist, ranging from residence halls to private apartments.  Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and is packed with parks, museums, restaurants, theatres, sports venues and clubs.  Because of its extensive network of public transportation, getting around Glasgow, as well as to other parts of the UK is easy and fast.  In addition, Glasgow has its own international airport, allowing you to fly directly there from the US.
