Please note that this exchange program is open only to Allied Health Science and Nutritional Science majors. Also, the only courses offered on this exchange are Psychology, Food Sciences & Technology, and Human Nutrition & Dietetics courses. Courses at Universitat de Barcelona are only taught in Spanish or Catalan.
Study in Barcelona- capital of the autonomous province of Catalonia, and one of the most prosperous areas in contemporary Spain. A major cultural center since the Middle Ages, it styles itself Catalan, Spanish, European, and international. Barcelona has been home to prominent 20th century artists like Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró. The experimental works of the modernista architect Antoni Gaudí are one of the city’s unique attractions, and his Church of the Holy Family is the familiar symbol of the city.
The Universitat de Barcelona (UB) was founded in 1450 and is the oldest and largest of the six universities in Barcelona. The international student population of the UB is approximately 1300 students. Today the UB is the largest university in Catalonia in terms of number of students and teaching staff, facilities, courses offered, and research.
Exchange students can choose from courses within the faculties of Psychology, Food Sciences & Technology, and Human Nutrition & Dietetics.
You will be able to earn a full semester’s worth of UConn credits on this program. In order to earn credit at UConn for courses completed on this program, individual courses must be approved by a designated UConn course evaluator and assigned a UConn course number. Exchange programs charge in-state UConn tuition for in-state students and New England rate UConn tuition for all out-of-state students, along with a few other UConn fees.
