Arrival at UConn
Student accepted for Spring 2020 semester MUST arrive on Saturday, January 18th. Check-in will begin at 9 am. Mandatory orientation will be on January 19th and January 20th .On-campus housing will not be available before January 18th.
In order to better prepare for your arrival at UConn, please fill out the flight itinerary form with your flight details and information on how you plan to arrive at UConn.

The Incoming Exchange Orientation will introduce you to your new home. Orientation will cover academics, the student code of conduct, housing, immigration, health and safety, campus life and adjusting to American culture. You will also have the opportunity to meet other exchange and UConn students.
Mandatory orientation will start on Sunday, January 19th at 10 am. More information about orientation coming soon.
Getting to UConn
UConn is located between New York City, New York and Boston, Massachusetts. If you fly into either city, there are buses to campus. Alternatively, some students fly into Bradley International Airport in Hartford, CT which is located approximately 35 miles from the UConn Storrs campus. Here is an overview of transportation alternatives to Storrs:
From Hartford to Storrs, Connecticut:
If you fly into Bradley International Airport (BDL), you may take the following transportation options:
- City Cab 860-416-6587 or United Cab 860-232-9730: around $80 one way from Bradley Airport/Hartford’s Union Station to Storrs.
- From Union Station: https://transpo.uconn.edu/blank/hartford-union-station-shuttle/
- Uber or Lyft car sharing services: Current rates run $30-$35 for a one-way trip.
From Boston or New York City to Storrs, Connecticut (UConn):
- Peter Pan offers direct bus service from Boston and New York City to Storrs.
- New York City Port Authority, 625 8th Avenue at 40th Street
- Please check Peter Pan’s website for luggage restrictions
Note: Tickets should be purchased online as early as possible, as these buses can fill up and students have been turned away who did not purchase tickets early. If you are unable to book a bus through to the UConn Storrs campus because it has sold out, it is recommended that you book a bus to Hartford and then take an Uber or Lyft to Storrs.
